Looking back, and still looking on line, you come across people who like the romance and the sexual energy that BDSM brings, but they haven’t even stopped to think about learning the ABC of it all. Becoming good at BDSM isn’t an easy road. IF your prepared to learn, its easy and its fun. It is full of unwritten rules, ones that if you don’t learn you will look like an idiot or a HNG.

Once you begin to learn, it comes easier and easier, fun piled on fun. Life changing even. Doing it without learning makes it a) dangerous (most activities we practice as a community come with a certain inherent risk) b) if you do not learn the basics you have no foundations from which to build. and lastly, any potential play partner will immediatly clock a blagger. Don’t get me wrong, admitting you are new to it is ok, just BS’ing and lying isn’t.

We are lucky these days, most of the good articles you require can be found online, in the past, when I learnt (not that I ever stop) was found in some great books. Obviously, you can’t just check it out the local library, but they are in expensive, and good. The book that most people see as the BDSM bible is “Screw the roses, send me the thorns”

That book is like BDSM 101, do yourself a favour, buy it. It will save you money, embarrasement and teach you the fundamentals.
