People who don’t understand bondage.
Many times, I have banged on about bondage being as much, if not more, of a mental thing than physical.
I stopped by Borders the yesterday and picked up a book about the life and times of an Ex Brothel owner who worked their way up from street walker to the top of the game.
She went on to describe her first fetish incident. It, somewhat predictably ,went along the lines of “This guy wanted to wash my feet and then have me beat him hard. I was like Wow, ok This guy is paying me to let him wash my feet and beat him. It was easy money.”
That to me spoke volumes. There are people who do it for the money, i.e. those that do it for cold hard cash. These people I dislike because they do it purely out of financial greed.
Then there are those Pro Domme. Now the Ladies that really earned the titles may make a living from it. However they understand what it’s all about. They understand the needs and wants of their clients, and often build up a sympathetic relationship with them and it is a catharsis for the recipient. They can help repair relationships, instruct couples in the basics and act as Teachers more than anything else
Lastly, and the most admired (and sometimes revered) are those that do it for the love of doing it. They seek to advance the understanding of What BDSM is, to live the life and to help those that seek to undertake it, by training or becoming their submissive, be it a short term thing or a life long commitment.
Anyhow, with all the above I am just trying to make the point that if you seek a Mistress/Master, make sure they are doing it for the right reasons. To choose the wrong one for the wrong reasons will only end in hurt and upset, perhaps a little too late.
